About the Role:
Transport Dispatchers are essential for maintaining the flow of logistics and ensuring customer satisfaction. Their ability to coordinate effectively, solve problems quickly, and communicate efficiently makes them a key component of successful transportation operations.

Responsabilities:
Scheduling and Dispatching: Schedule and dispatch drivers, vehicles, and cargo to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs.
Route Planning and Optimization: Plan efficient routes to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
Maintain constant communication with drivers, clients, and other relevant stakeholders.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of dispatched orders, vehicle logs, and delivery status.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all transportation activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
Address and resolve issues related to delays, delivery discrepancies, and customer complaints.
Work closely with warehouse staff, logistics teams, and external partners to coordinate the movement of goods.
Utilize transportation management software and tools to streamline dispatch operations.
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client needs and resolving issues efficiently.
Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure timely servicing.

Requirements:
Experience in Drayage: Prior experience in drayage operations is essential, with a solid understanding of port and terminal procedures, as well as regulatory compliance in freight handling.
Excellent communication skills: Dispatchers need to communicate clearly and effectively with both customers and service providers.
Strong organizational skills: They must be able to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and ensure timely responses.
Problem-solving ability: Dispatchers need to think quickly and find solutions to unexpected situations.
Multi-tasking: They are often required to handle several tasks simultaneously, such as answering phones, dispatching services, and coordinating logistics.
Geographic knowledge: Understanding the area they are dispatching services in can be crucial for efficient routing and coordination.
Computer proficiency: Familiarity with dispatch software and the ability to navigate computer systems quickly and accurately is essential.
Stress management: Dispatchers often work in high-pressure environments, so the ability to stay calm and focused under stress is important.
